10 facts about Monarch Butterflies

The Monarch butterfly gets nectar from a poisonous flower and doesn’t get sick.

They can fly 5-6 metres above the ground.

When migrating it can cover 128km and can reach the speed of up to 18km an hour.

The Monarch butterfly is a very interesting creature.

It migrates in warmer places over the winter.

It lays its eggs on milkweed plant.

The butterfly is black and Orange.

The cocoon is green with like a hat on it.

The caterpillar will eat leaves until it is ready to make a cocoon.
