The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower took two years to build. It is 324 metres tall (1,063 feet.) If you were to put the Eiffel Tower on a giant scale it would weigh 7,300 tons. It has had over 206,719,200 visitors between the time of its construction (1889) and 2006. The amount of stairs of the Eiffel Tower is 328 steps to the first level, 340 steps to the second level and 18 steps to the lift.

When you get out of the lift at the third level there are 15 more steps to the top platform. The total amount of steps is 701!While it was being built, people were starting to get scared of it falling over because of its awkward shape.

The Eiffel tower was the tallest tower in the world until the Chrysler Building was completed.
It is an observation and radio broadcasting tower.
